“Not all heroes go to heaven. The rest go to processing.”
A shadow-faced, hardboiled agent for the afterlife's most cynical government agency must navigate a grimy metropolis of monsters and mobsters to track down a black-market syndicate harvesting the remains of fallen champions. When a famous surface-world superhero is murdered, their body and magical artifacts don't just disappear — they end up on the Limbo City black market. Agent Blackwood is dispatched to a notorious underworld diner to shake down a known smuggling ring called The Syndicate. Armed with his terrifying, sentient briefcase Oculus, he must perform occult autopsies, interrogate demonic mobsters, and reclaim stolen heroic artifacts before rogue factions can use them to tear the veil between the living and the dead.
