“He doesn't remember killing the dragon.”
He doesn't remember killing the dragon. He doesn't remember much of anything before the fall — only waking up on the edge of the S-Loop, his armor scorched, his helmet sealed shut over a face no one has seen, and a title carved into his breastplate that he never asked for: Dragon Slayer. The world calls him that with reverence. And with hatred. Both, depending on what the dragon's death cost them.
Because the dragon wasn't a monster — it was the axis the floating world turned on. Its blood, spilled across the S-Loop's terrain, didn't just end an age. It scattered. Pieces of its power embedded themselves into the land itself — into beasts, into bloodlines, into the boundary between sky and fall. To restore the world, those fragments must be found, gathered, and returned to where the dragon died.
He doesn't know this when he starts. He only knows he has to get home — to a place he can't quite picture, a name he can't quite remember, a life that existed before the armor and the title and the silence. So he travels. Each leg of the journey is its own self-contained trial — a fragment to recover, a transformed guardian to face, a piece of the old world's punishment for what happened to the dragon.
His unicorn is no ordinary mount. She is bound to the dragon's old magic — every fragment he recovers, she absorbs, and her wings grow stronger, stranger, more capable of carrying him through impossible places. But each time she changes, she remembers a little more of what she used to be. And what she used to be might not have been a unicorn at all.
Every episode is an island. A trial. A test disguised as a battle. And every battle leaves him one piece closer to a truth he's not sure he wants. He just wants to go home. The world is going to make him earn it.
