“The city doesn't know it needs saving yet. Kidd Solar already knows.”
Bubble Loop City is the most alive place in the world — a vertical, candy-colored metropolis of looping roads, sky markets, and floating plazas where everybody knows everybody and the days move fast and bright. Kidd Solar moves faster. Twelve years old, relentlessly clever, and constitutionally incapable of staying out of trouble, Kidd Solar is the city's most wanted — and most beloved — kid on a hoverboard. His loyal dog Blazer, a street-smart mutt with a nose for danger and absolutely no respect for authority, rides shotgun wherever Kidd goes.
Officer Rick of the SOEPD Kid Unit has been assigned to exactly one case since the beginning of his career. One case. One kid. Kidd Solar. He has never caught him. He will never stop trying.
But Bubble Loop City is changing. Zar Baron has arrived. No one knows exactly where he came from — only that he appeared one morning in the city's highest tower, bought it in cash, and immediately began quietly acquiring everything below it. He is building something. The city can feel it but can't name it. Kidd Solar is not impressed.
Because Blazer smelled something in Zar Baron's tower the day they rode past it — something that made the dog freeze, lower his head, and growl for the first time in his life. And Kidd Solar has learned to trust that growl above everything else.
